So why is it when we obtain or want certain things it seems like you notice how many others have that same exact thing you have or want.
For example, when we first bought our Silver Impala, I was like sweet, I haven't noticed these before, it's nice. NOW, where ever I go I see them. In fact, another person in my office building has one because I tried to get in it once and freaked out that my doors weren't unlocking by the button thingy and my key didn't work. I mean aside from my paranoia thinking that something else had taken over or I had a fugue and drove the other car and lost my marbles. I finally realized, hey that's not my cd case or my umbrella in the back seat and saw that my car was a half of a level lower blinking back at me with desperation. DUH! Silly me!
Example two. When we were thinking about purchasing a Nintendo Wii, and then the car broke and the money went towards that it was like all of a sudden Wii's were EVERYWHERE. Before when we searching for a Wii we wouldn't have to pay out the arse for. THEN, slip, trip, and a whole new set of breaks laters and they were everywhere and sadly our savings account had been put back down to nil.
Third example. Steve and I have finally started putting more things together and are purchasing our first home next month, and in anticipation we have been going to the obgyn's office getting my reproductive health in line, in order to expand our family in the next year, besides buying a puppy (which will happen soon!) Our neighbors pug was in the hall when I got home from work yesterday and preceded to follow me in. I can't wait to have a little fat beasty of our own. But I digress. So when I get the call yesterday that I indeed need to go see yet a THIRD doctor for more tests and another procedure, its pretty depressing that pregnant women seem to be popping up everywhere in my life. Not that I am not happy(and also envious) for them. It just seems like how many more will this happen to before it is me. I mean c'mon I must know at least 6 people that are pregnant right now. 2 just gave birth less than a month ago. That's 8 people! I know I'm at the tender age of 28 where these things are happening more often, but c'mon! It makes it harder for me to understand the reason for abortion, when the emotions and tests that I am willfullingly putting myself through to obtain the same result but opposite are more expensive and at least similarily painful.

Well you done done me, you bet I felt it...
This past weekend was a nice change of pace. Although I think we spent a little too much money having a little too much fun.
First Friday I left work early because I had to go in for another procedure that Dr. Lutsic sent me for. First I had an ultrasound done 3 weeks ago, and a lot of bloodwork. From there she sent me back to Southgate Radiology for an Hysterosalpingogram (HSG) which let me tell you was NOT in any way pleasant. Hysterosalpingogram is an X-ray of the uterus and fallopian tubes which allows visualization of the inside of the uterus and tubes. The picture will reveal any abnormalities of the uterus as well as tubal problems such as blockage and dilation. They take the xray by inserting a catheter into your cervix which then inserts a dye that can be picked up on the xray machine. Of course the insertion of the dye resulted in blinding cramping pain, which let me tell ya made me want to punch the doctor and throw up at the same time. I suggest that if anyone else needs this done to take some kind of preventative pain meds before hand. Either way the picture seems to show a sub septum uterus. I go back to go over the results and our options with Dr. Lutsic in a couple weeks.
Afterwards I went home and relaxed for a few hours before Steve got home from work. Once he was home we changed and went to Mongolian BBQ for dinner, which was awesome. Afterward we went to the Henry Ford IMAX and waited in line for almost 2 hours to see The Dark Knight. You have to get there early to get a good seat! We bought our tickets over two weeks ago! It was a great flick. I think my only complaint was Maggie Gylenhaal (sp?) I don't think she was quite right for the part, but I love her as an actress so I was happy. Then we stopped at Snookers for a couple and went home.
Saturday we woke up all early to go canoeing with Pittman and friends. Steve and I got ready, and headed out to a crappy humid and rainy day. We stopped and got provisions determined to canoe anyway. We made it all the way to Ann Arbor and tried to stop for food (can't canoe on an empty stomach) while running super late. The line was FOREVER long, it was raining harder and harder, so we said forget canoeing drove back to Ann Arbor and walked around the Art Fair for 5 hours and ate all sorts of good stuff. Of course we couldn't afford any of their posh art, but we did both find sweet Michigan hoodies for 50% off. Afterwards we went home and relaxed, then we went up to Roar on the River to see Sandi who was working the Beer booth and watch the fireworks. They put on a really good show! Steve was impressed which was good because Steve is KING FIREWORK GUY. I mean it, he actually has a saving budget to buy some every year, he watches them on TV, he's recorded things about them on certain shows like How it's Made, and Top 10 Firework Shows in the World on NG. After the fireworks we went to Trenton Lanes for a bit, which was ungodly hot inside because the guy said he can't afford to put the air on (stupid Michigan economy). We left there sweating and went up to Snookers again for Jimmy's birthday. We left around close and slept in really late yesterday. We got Pizza Hut for dinner (their new pasta is incredible) and watched The Onion movie.
In house news we go see Derrell at 5th 3rd tomorrow to do our mortgage preparations. Closing date is set for August 29th. Keep on praying everything goes smooth!

Our house is a very, very very fine house...
So, drum roll please.....WE GOT THE HOUSE!! Woo hoo! I'm so excited. When we put the offer in over a month ago, and she countered with a price higher than her asking I knew then that it wasn't going to work out. Even though we both absolutely fell in love with the house we weren't willing to pay what she wanted for it. And obviously she wasn't willing to let go of it for less. So we countered a couple times and then said forget it and started looking at other houses. Steve and I were sitting up at the Miller's camper over 4th of July weekend thinking "Man, should we contact our agent and see if what we can do to get that house?" So we talked about it for a couple days and had decided that Monday morning I'd email Jen and see about the Nelson house (which is its name) So what do I see to my surprise waiting for me when I open my email Monday??? An email from our agent stating that the seller was will to renegotiate with US! So after a couple of gruelling days of waiting for her to quit being wishy washy and sign the darn papers, we FINALLY found out that WE GOT THE HOUSE (there's a pic of it a couple of posts below). So we had the home inspection Friday evening and everything is good to go! Tentative close date Sept 1st.
List of why I can't wait to be in the house:
1. We can finally get a puppy!
2. NO MORE RENTING
3. Room for all our stuff
4. No more quarters for laundry
5. Our own backyard, so I can PLANT things in the ground instead of in pots!
So my classes have been going well until this past weekend when I wasn't able to post my discussion questions that were due Saturday. So now they are two days late and I'm going to have to wait to do it until lunch. Stupid laptop signal. I'm not too worried I have been doing really well in that class. Microeconomics though is extremely boring, and I think I'm over thinking the equations. I feel like I have watch myself from overanalyzing the problem. The teacher is friendly enough though, although he has this annoying as hell quirk where he is constantly making a "tsk" sound with his tongue on the roof of his mouth. I mean CONSTANTLY. Over a hundred times in less than two hours. We counted. and says "UM" almost as much. At least he knows what hes talking about and I'm catching on fairly quickly. 6 more weeks until I'm a college graduate. Then I start the hard stuff! I still have to submit my writing sample for the Accelerated Bachelors program. I think I'll do that this week.

Stars and Stripes
Of course I mention the celebration of the 4th, and when we head to the Lake this weekend all of our Canadien peeps will still be celebrating Canada Day! It's one of the most fun weekends of the summer for a few reasons. 1. It's usually great weather, and warm enough to swim in the lake (which has been freezing until this point) 2. Everyone is up there because of the dual Holidays 3. It's extra special because my wonderful father-in-law is turning 50! 4. FOOD FOOD and MORE FOOD!
It's a little strange to be married to the oldest of five, whilst I'm the youngest of four. (stepfamily included) Steve parents are so much younger than mine, and act it. While Dad & Dawn are 50 and 38 respectively. My Mom & John are 60 and 74. While Steve has a sister that is 8 1/2 and is still getting her adult teeth, my eldest sibling is older than my mother-in-law and all three of my sisters have 7 children between them. It's a generation gap for sure. I've never had to be an older sister. I was always the one left behind playing barbies while they were off on dates or going to college. It's fun getting to hang out with Shelby or the others. I realized a while ago that people are looking at me as an adult now, not just a bigger version of a kid. I was at the mall in line to get some pretzel bites (my crave, have to have, when I go to the mall) and there was a teenage girl in front of me (we'll say 15-16ish) and she almost bumped into me because she was fooling around with her friends who were in line with her. So, she almost bumped into me, her friends all shut up gave her a look, and she turned around and said to ME "Sorry about that ma'am" MAAM!!!!! Ugh, that was so depressing!
In other news, I went to a new doctor yesterday. Dr. Lutsic. Steve and my mom both thought that I needed to see a more pro-active OBGYN because of my amenorhea. She was great. I didn't need to be checked again which is wonderful because that's the part that I HATE. She also sending me for a plethora of blood tests (all in one shot I hope) and for an pelvic ultrasound. FINALLY, a doctor that doesn't push aside my worries and tell me I'm fine. So I go back in a month to see if how everything turned out.
