Overcoming Grief

One week ago we lost my father. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in September and just 5 short weeks later he was gone. My sister and I knew something was wrong at Callie's baptism, but we thought it was early onset dementia (My grandmother passed from Alzheimers)we never thought it was a tumor, or cancer. We never thought he wouldn't be around for another Christmas. Just like that he is gone.

Dad and I circa 1984

At our wedding (My dad was a great dancer!)

My sister calls this picture "The Nucleus"

Dad and Callie meeting for the first time

My parents divorced when I was 10. Growing up I had 2 dads, John (who passed in 2009) and Dad. Now they are both gone. My heart is heavy with grief.

She has been such a joy during this time. She is a true Gift from God in more ways than one. My dad adored her. She has his eyes I think.

Oh Sarah, my heart is so heavy for you. I can't imagine your grief. And it was so unexpected and fast, too! That is always so traumatic. I'm thinking of you hun...
