It's MY kind of Town...

This past weekend we traveled the 4 hours to Chicago to attend the A Family of My Own infertility conference. They were raffling off 2 IVF's to 2 lucky winners. Who did NOT happen to be me (sucky!) But we did learn a lot and made some really great contacts. We loved the holistic/integrated therapy sessions from Beth at Pulling Down the Moon, and we learned a ton about the ART lab procedures and PCOS. Even the free lunch was delish!

Afterwards we drove back to our friend Katie's who graciously put us up for the weekend. Drowned our sorrows for a bit, and then jumped on the train to Union Station. I haven't been on a train in years, it was awesome! Then we hopped on the El and went to Wrigleyville and to Market Days in Boystown. It was super fun. We ate a terrific deep dish pizza. Did some good people watching at Market Days and finished up doing a shot off of a snow ski, then rode the train home.

Today is CD3. I went in for my baseline and everything looks great. We will start stimming tonight with 225iu of Menopur and I'll go back on Friday for bloodwork. Saturday I have my first acupuncture appointment! I'm really excited! Maybe the combination will make IUI #8 successful. One can always hope!

I'm glad you found the conference helpful. I wanted to be there after Pryia contacted me but it was too short of notice. You'll have to pass on all the things you learned! I was hesitant on acupuncture for a long time and Faith worked on me (you know, my having a successful pregnancy...) and I gave it shot. I LOVE it! I'm still getting used to the Chinese Herbs she gave me, they taste like dirt. But the experience of acupuncture itself was amazing. TMI ALERT : It could have just been coincidence but I felt ovulation pain for the first time on Saturday and I had EEC in mass quantities for the first time all after starting acupuncture and herbs.
